NFL Bargain Bets: Week 16
December 17th 2008
by Old Man Winner
Arizona Cardinals (+8) at New England Patriots
OK, I've sucked lately. However, I am still 8-6-1 for the season, and very
confident in this week's pick!
Last week I also took Arizona and they got crushed. So why do I like them again
this week? It's starts by looking at the teams who have beat them recently: Min,
Phil, NYG, and Carolina. What do they all have in common - besides all being
good teams? They are all teams that are in the NFL's top 10 in sacks. New
England is not. They are in the middle of the pack.
Here's how this translates into a game situation. When teams can pressure Warner
and knock him off rhythm, they seem to be able to disrupt the whole Redbird
offense. However, with two of NE's three starting LB's on the bench due to
injury, Warner should have the time he needs to deliver the ball to the NFC's
two starting Pro-Bowl WR's.
Cassel has been playing well lately and had the game of his life last week,
winning one for the gipper (after his father passed away). I think he'll have
another good game her and should throw a couple of TD's. I just don't think the
Pats can keep up with the Cards prolific offense.
In a shootout (if the weather holds up): New England 38 - Arizona 37
Bargain Bets 2008 Record: 8-6-1
