NFL Bargain Bets: Week 2

Buffalo Bills (+5.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars       

This one is pretty straightforward. When you take away the core strength of a team, it's likely to struggle. Any football fan knows that Jacksonville likes to run the ball. Everyone knows it and yet they do it successfully anyway (most of the time). Also, as any football fan knows, running dominance starts with offensive linemen. A good offensive line can make an average back look great, and a bad offensive line can make a good back look awful. If you want any proof of this just look at what Larry Johnson did a few years ago behind a great offensive line and what he has done in the past couple of years behind a lousy one. Jacksonville will be playing this game without three offensive line starters. The entire interior of their line is out - their center and both guards. This should be devastating to their ground game, which in essence is the strength of their offense.


Buffalo is a team on the come this year. They are gaining in strength and many are starting to believe they could finally overtake a Bradyless Patriot team in the AFC East. Their defense is strong and should be able to hold Jacksonville below 20 points. This means that their offense only needs to post a couple of touchdowns to cover. Although they are no offensive juggernaut, they should be able to do that.
