How NFL Teams Did Against the Spread in 2008

September 4th 2009 - Special K

Week 1 is quickly approaching and it is time to start reviewing 2008 stats and
data if you haven't already started. You are probably going to be surprised by
how well and poorly teams performed against the spread last season.  Would you have ever
imagined that the Kansas City Chiefs with an overall record of 2-14 were 8-8 ATS?
Take a look at our Top 5 ATS lists and stop asking yourself why you kept picking
the Vikings and Broncos last year.

      - OverAchiever Award goes to: Detroit Lions

This was a close vote. The Chiefs did well ATS and so didn't the New
Orleans Saints, but the Lions had to win something last year!
I guess all those double-digit spreads paid off as the Lion went 7-9 ATS
even though they were 0-16 SU.
