NFL Bargain Bets for Week 8

New York Giants (+2) at Philadelphia Eagles

The Giants have lost their last two games. But don't let that mislead you. They lost to two quality teams - the Saints and the Cardinals. The last time this team lost three consecutive games was back in 2006. They are the best team on the road in the NFL and have beat Philly in Philly the last two trips.

Take a look at the competition that Philly has played this year:
Carolina (2-4)
New Orleans (6-0)
KC (1-6)
TB (0-7)
Oakland (2-5)
Washington (2-5)
That's a combined record of 13-27, or 7-27 sans New Orleans

The Eagles are just not used to the level of competition that the Giants will bring. Philly is also likely to be without Brian Westbrook, their #1 offensive weapon. This will hurt them in a big way. If he doesn't play (concussion) the Eagles will not be able to play their traditional dump off game they usually scheme to slow down the Giants rush. Without him the Eagles should see more pressure and be successful at getting to an increasingly immobile Donovan McNabb. I expect the Eagles to connect on 1 or 2 big plays, but that's about it.

On other side of the ball, The Eagles will be blitzing like they always have and the Giants should be able to attack on the ground and succeed on a couple of big gainers themselves.

Not a trend guy? How about this one - the Eagles lost to the RAIDERS! That should be 'nuff said!

I expect the Giants to win by high single digits. Take the Giants +2 pts.
