NFL O/U Game of the Week

New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals (Over 34 points)

I was expecting to see the line at around 37 points for this game so I see some value in the over this week. Even though Rex Ryan thinks the Jets should be favored to win the Super Bowl, it is highly unlikely that the Jets are going to shut out the Bengals two weeks in a row. The weather will be very cold Saturday which is one of the reasons why the O/U is so low. However, both teams won't be playing on ice at the Meadowlands this weekend. The field in Cincinnati is heated underneath and slippery conditions won't be as much a factor as it was in week 17.

I look for the Bengals offense to get back on track with Cedric Benson back in the lineup. The Bengals have also been averaging 20 points at home this season. Meanwhile, the Jets offense has been averaging 24 points per game away from the Meadowlands. I really liked how the Jets utilized Brad Smith in their rushing attack against the Bengals in week 17. Next step is for him to start throwing out of this wildcat formation. Even though both teams have two of the better defenses in the NFL, I look for both offenses to be a little more creative and put points on the board in this game.
