NFL Underdog Pick for Week 9

Kansas City Chiefs (+2.5) at Oakland Raiders

Had Janikowski not missed that chip shot field goal against the Cardinals, the Raiders would be 5-3 and a win against the Chiefs would put them in first place. However, he missed and the Raiders are 4-4. Some are billing this matchup as the game of the week. As far as the AFC West goes, this is a huge game. I have a good pulse on the Raiders having picked them the last two weeks when consensus went the opposite way. Now that the Raiders have you believing, this will be the week they will let you down. I like the Chiefs for several reasons this week. Two of the reasons are that Nnamdi Asomugha and Zack Miller are doubtful to play. This is a big blow to the Raiders. We all know both teams love to run the football. The Chiefs rank 7th in the NFL in rushing defense while Oakland ranks 26th. The edge goes to the Chiefs there. I also like and can trust the Chiefs coaching staff more than the Raiders. Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis are a big reason why the Chiefs are 5-2. 

If you like trends, the Chiefs are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven meetings in Oakland and the underdog is a perfect 6-0 ATS in the last six meetings.
