NFL Best Bets for Week 6
October 15th 2011- Old Man Winner             

Last week the Old Man was 4-0. Let's see if I can do it again.

Chi -3 vs. Min
Cutler has been getting rushed more heavily than Apple stores lately. I'm surprised he's still standing. However, for as much heat as he was getting Monday night he actually looked good avoiding the rush and getting the ball to Forte and his other secondary receivers. Martz has been heard promising fewer 5 and 7 step drops and likely a heavier dose of handoffs to Forte. That should help, along with a line that doesn't include a boy named Suh. The Vikings don't have much beyond AP. I expect the Bears to show 8 or 9 in the box all night and make up for all the embarrassing missed tackles they had on Monday night.

Cin-7 vs. Ind
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It's true - our beloved Bengals aren't the Bungels anymore. They have the top ranked defense in the NFL - #1! Whodathunkit? On the flip side, the Colts rank 30th in total offense and are missing their starting QB and RB. If last week's game didn't convince you that they were out to win the Andrew Luck Bowl maybe their GM flying to CA to watch Luck play did! This one is over early when Indy turns the ball over early and often.

Dal +7 vs. NE
New England has yet to go head-to-head with another offensive juggernaut as the Cowboys are when at full strength. This one should be fun to watch. Last team with the ball . . .I'll take the points.


NYJ -7 vs. Mia
I don't know who has taken more jabs over the past week - the Yankees or the Jets. Things are imploding in the big apple (inside and outside the locker room) and that usually means guys can't wait to get back out on the field to take out their frustrations. I feel sorry for the Dolphins. This is the week that the Jets return to their ground and pound attack. Look for Greene to have his break out game of the year in this one.
