Indianapolis Colts (-1) vs San Diego Chargers

When the playoffs arrive, the dynamics of games change. Home field advantage lessens, and momentum and toughness seem to take over. I believe that each of the Road teams this week (oddly all favorites) have both the momentum on their side and are the tougher teams, with possibly the exception of the Minnesota Vikings vs. Philly.

So, why do I like the Colts? Let me list the reasons:

They:
    have a better coach
    • have a better quarterback
    • have the momentum advantage, having won 9 straight
    • have their starting offensive line intact (maybe the most important of all)
    • have the NFL's MVP on defense in Bob Sanders
    • have been improving defensively all year long
    • owe the Chargers payback for knocking them out of the playoffs last year

And, why don't I like the Chargers? Let me list the reasons:

    • How can anyone like Philip Rivers?
    • How can anyone respect Norv Turner as a head coach?
    • LT is not healthy and may pull another disappearing act in the playoffs again -     he just does not play tough enough in the playoffs
    • Gates has a banged up ankle
    • Shawne Merriman was the difference maker in that defense and they have not
been the same without him all year long
    • Sproles is too much of a finesse player in what will be a more physical game

I expect the difference makers for the Colts this week to be their defensive ends. They will get to Rivers and create turnovers. Watch!
