NFL Bargain Bets for Week 5
October 9th 2009 - Old Man Winner

Indianapolis Colts (-4) at Tennessee Titans

OK, calling all suckers! Yes, this one does stink to high heaven, but I just
can't help myself. C'mon isn't this one too easy? Indy is 4-0 and playing great
and Tennessee is 0-4 and looking horrible, and the Colts are only giving 4. Is
that a typo? Is there a digit missing? Shouldn't it be more like 14? Aren't you
looking over your shoulder waiting for someone to say, "Nah, we're just joshing
with you."

How can Indy only be a 4 pt. favorite? I know . . . I know, I've heard all the
classic arguments against this bet - Tenn always plays Indy tough, Indy is not
as good on the road, outdoors or on grass, Tenn has to win their first game
sooner rather than later, never bet against a home dog. But, again, I just can't
help myself.

No matter what happens when Tennessee has the ball (which has not been much),
Indy will get the ball next. Manning has been absolutely ridiculous this year
and it doesn't look like anyone can stop him. I just don't see how you can bet
against him, especially when you're giving less than a touchdown in this one.
Tennessee of '09 is just simply not Tennessee of '08 and the sooner we all
understand that the better.

Take Indy and give the points. Jeez - I almost feel like I should donate the
money to charity this one is so easy . . . .

Other picks I also like this week: Az/Hou Over (this would be my best bet if
this article wasn't committed to picking teams vs. over/under), NYJ/Mia Under,
KC, Pitt, Min
