Wild-Card Prediction: Titans vs Chargers January 4th 2008 by Special K
San Diego Chargers -9 vs Tennessee Titans
This was by
far the easiest game to pick of all the wild-card games happening this weekend.
The Chargers are going to win this one going away.
There is definitely some bad blood between both of these teams. In their last
meeting, the Titans thought Shawne Merriman took a cheap shot at Vince Young.
The Chargers felt the Titans retaliated with late hits on Merriman by tackle
David Stewart and center Kevin Mawae. Merriman, who suffered sprained knee
ligaments, is not going to forget what happened and it is going to be lights out
for the Tennessee offense this weekend. Here is the video of the late hit
on Merriman. If you watch the video you will see the late hit at the end
of the play, at the bottom left corner.
The Tennessee offense barely has enough playmakers to put on the field for this
game as it is. Starting QB Vince Young is still hobbling around with a quadriceps injury and is
sharing snaps with Kerry Collins. The Titans will be without Roydell Williams who has a
broken ankle. This makes Justin Gage and Eric Moulds the Titans primary wide
receivers. Enough said there. The Titans starting tight end Bo Scaife was also put on IR
with a lacerated liver. It's time to start signing up guys from the
practice squad. Chargers win easily 27-13.
