Power Rankings for Week 3 of the 2009 season. Each week our team of football
experts will pass judgment on each NFL team and rank them accordingly.
The New England Patriots have fallen from the #1 spot with last week's loss to
the New York Jets. The New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers were fast risers
from week 1 and continue upward this week after impressive wins. The
New York Giants have now grabbed hold of the #1 ranking with the Ravens a very
close 2nd. Steve Smith and Mario Manningham have emerged as a solid
one-two combination at wide receiver for the Giants. The Ravens have
finally stepped it up a notch on the offensive side. ranked 3rd in total yards
per game. Both the Giants and Ravens have favorable matchups in Week 3, so we
don't expect any changes next week.
