This year's NFL postseason is completely for the Birds. The
Ravens, Eagles, and Cardinals have all made it to the conference finals. The
Ravens, Eagles, and Cardinals were ranked highest in our football poll last week
as the teams most likely to pull off an upset. Congratulations to our
knowledgeable Pylon readers!
The saying has always been that defenses win Super Bowls and three of the top
rated defenses have made it to the Conference Finals (the Ravens, Steelers, and
Eagles). However, in this year's postseason, the Cardinals defense has been the
best ranked of the final four. In just two games, the Cardinals have
limited opposing teams to around 250 yards of total offense and have forced 9
turnovers with one returned for a touchdown.
Unarguably, the QB with the most
pressure to win this year's Super Bowl is Donovan McNabb. Warner and Big
Ben have won one already and Joe Flacco is only in his rookie season.
McNabb is in his 10th season with the Eagles and this is his 5th NFC
Championship game already which is quite a remarkable accomplishment. The
pressure will be on McNabb and the Eagles to pull through in the clutch this
time around. With the Phillies having won the World Series, it may just be
Philadelphia's year.
