NFL Best Bets for Week 8
October 27th 2012 - Old Man Winner
Det -2.5 vs. Sea
When everyone is high on one team and low on another its usually time to
take the latter.
All the analysts have fallen in love with the Seahawks and seem to think the the
Lions are worse than the new Brad Pitt Chanel #5 commercial (not possible). Now
is the perfect time to jump on the Motorcity low rider bandwagon.
Seattle is awesome at home with their 12th man support, but do not travel well
at all. Although they have had a couple extra days of rest they still have to
travel 3/4's across the country and play an early game against a team that is in
desperate need of a win to stay relevant in their division.
The Lions have not looked good this whole year. Stafford is looking up in the QB
rankings at the likes of Andy Dalton, Andrew Luck, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and is tied
with Carson Palmer. C'MON MAN! And, if that's not bad enough, Mr. $1M per game
Man, Calvin Johnson, is looking up in the WR rankings at household names like
Randall Cobb, Lance Moore, Andre Roberts, and Danny Amendola - and he's missed 4
games to injury!!!! They also lost their #2 WR Nate Burleson to injury last
week.
All that understood, to borrow a phrase from fantasy guru, Mathew Berry, the
hate has gone too far! Detroit's defense actually looked pretty good against the
Bears last Monday night and they are too good offensively to be held down for
long.
I like the Lions defense to play a solid game this week and expect their offense
to finally show their "A" game.
Det 27 Sea 13
I also like:
Wash + 5 @ Pit and OVER 47.5
I expect a shootout here. Neither of these defenses will hold up in this
one. RGIII and Morris should have great games and I expect Santana Moss that hit
another long one this week. Griffin throws a beautiful deep ball and in the
second half the Steelers will get caught bringing too many into the box. Big Ben
will also have a nice game, but Pitt will be too one-dimensional.
Wash 31 Pit 30
SD @ CLE UNDER 44
IND @ TEN OVER 46.5
NO @ DEN OVER 55
