Dan Campbell is Chuck Norris
Do you know who Dan Campbell is?
He is the new Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins. He took over when Joe Philbin
was fired two weeks ago. Campbell was promoted from his role as Tight Ends
Coach. That tells me a lot. The Miami front office was more impressed with a
position coach than any of the three Coordinators.
The quote provided at the presser was that "Dan brings a certain grit." I'll
say!
In Miami his story is trending and quickly approaching legend . . . Chuck Norris
size and type legend.
There is a tale that is traveling around the league that depicts him playing
through an appendicitis attack. That is some serious tough!
Ok, so how does this affect a team, and a game, you might be asking.
I've seen this type of thing many times, especially mid-season. The team is not
buying into the outgoing coach. He leaves. The team loves the new coach. He
wants to "get after it." The team gets super jacked up to play for this guy and
show their support and toughness.
We all know that this is an emotional game, and a team coming in on an emotional
high has a big advantage. I understand that this state cannot carry a team for
too long - maybe a game or two, but this is one of those games.
Throw out all the stats, history, and home field on this one and just ride the
emotion!
I heard that Obama contacted Campbell last week to sleigh ISIS in Syria, but was
told he'd have to get in line after taking care of Godzilla . . . and the
Titans.
