Houston Texans (+6.5) at New England Patriots
Yes, normally it is very foolish to pick against Brady and the Hoodie but it is
week 1 and this is by far the best point spread value you can find for any of
the underdogs this weekend. The Patriots are typically a slow starting team as
they evaluate their players in the first month of the season. The Patriots are
very limited on offense with only 3 wide receivers. Hogan is the only starting
wide receiver returning from last season.
Meanwhile, the Texans have Watson, Mercilus, and JJ Watt returning. The
Texans have grown tired of losing to the Patriots over the years so I expect
this one to be a battle and one of the better opening season games we will see
this weekend.
